Dlala Thukzin has released the second volume of his much-loved project series, 031 Studio Camp. Born out of his annual studio camp in Durban, South Africa, the project brings together some of the country’s most exciting voices and producers for a weekend of pure creativity.
While Thukzin first made a name for himself through Gqom, this project sees him diving deeper into Afrotech and Afro House, a sound he’s been at the forefront. His signature blend of percussion-heavy beats, soulful melodies, and electronic textures has caught the attention of many, with artists like Oscar Mbo and Jazzworx also exploring similar styles in recent years.
The 8-track EP features a strong lineup, including Zeh McGeba, Nkosazana Daughter, Zee Nxumalo, Limit Nala, and more. As always, Thukzin teams up with his trusted producers Skillz and MK Productions, ensuring that the signature quality and vibe fans have come to expect is there. “It’s a project that shows where we are with our sound right now,” says Thukzin. “It’s about working with the people I trust and creating music that feels good and real.”
