On Isitifiketi, Jabulile reflects: “This project is about identity. It’s rooted in time, movement, and the places and experiences that shape who we are. Growing up at a Children’s Home in the Midlands of KwaZulu-Natal, storytelling was everything — from folk tales to stories about the world beyond. Life in the countryside was slow, and our imaginations made distant places feel close. Isitifiketi is a window into that world — a reflection on faith, memory, and the journey of becoming.”
The EP includes previously released singles Isineke with Thando Zide, uBhubesi, and Uyinkosi Yamakhosi, as well as a remastered version of fan-favourite Woza Mntana.
Isitifiketi continues to explore Jabulile’s unique ability to blend traditional elements with contemporary sensibilities, offering a collection of songs that feel both grounded and expansive. It invites listeners to pause, reflect, and connect – showcasing his depth as both a writer and performer.
The EP was produced and mixed by Ross Dorkin (Beatenberg), mastered by Mike Zietsman (PHFat), with a Dolby Atmos mix by Vicente Espi for listeners on Spatial Audio-enabled platforms.
