South African gospel sensation and Metro FM Music Award-winner Xolly Mncwango is set to release the Unusual Deluxe, the extended version of her acclaimed 2024 studio album Unusual. This new offering includes all 21 original tracks from the original release, now enriched by five additional live tracks recorded at her 2024 concert at Carnival City.
The deluxe edition features ‘Igama Lakho’, ‘Alikho Igama’, ‘Thank You’, ‘Healing Power’, and ‘Liyabasebenzela’. Some of these tracks were selected not only for their quality but for the role they’ve played in Xolly’s journey as a worship leader and recording artist.
‘Liyabasebenzela’, released earlier this year as a standalone single, has already surpassed 1.3 million views on YouTube since its April 2025 debut, reflecting its wide appeal. ‘Healing Power’, a beloved track from her debut album, also makes a return, reaffirming its lasting place in her catalogue and continued popularity among listeners. ‘Alikho Igama’, while not a new composition, has been part of Xolly’s live set for years and is now included in response to fan demand.
‘Igama Lakho’ emerges as one of the most powerful moments on ‘Unusual Deluxe’. As Xolly renders the song, you can hear the crowd singing along word for word, a chilling, spirit-filled moment that captures the heart of communal worship. The song is a classic favourite among Zulu gospel circles, traditionally sung ‘emathendeni’ during church revivals and gatherings. Xolly’s version honours that heritage while giving it a more polished, reverent delivery that connects past and present.
‘Unusual Deluxe’ is both a continuation and a celebration. The original album, recorded at Cedarwoods in Sandton in 2023 and released in early 2024, was a landmark project that further established Xolly’s presence in the gospel music landscape. With this deluxe edition, she captures the energy and spirit of live worship, offering a full-circle moment that honours her evolution as a minister, vocalist, and performer.
The release also coincides with a major milestone in Xolly’s career, her return to KwaZulu-Natal for the ‘Unusual Encounter’ shows at the Durban ICC. The first night, scheduled for 2 August 2025, sold out within hours, leading to the announcement of a second show on 3 August 2025. This homecoming is significant not only for her fans in the province but also for Xolly herself, as she performs in the region that shaped her.
With a growing list of accolades including award wins, certified gold and platinum records, and millions of streams and views across platforms, Xolly Mncwango continues to lead with authenticity, excellence, and anointing.
