In the face of one the most challenging issues facing our planet, plastic pollution, the upcoming Corona Sunsets Festival World Tour will play its part in addressing the growing problem while helping preserve nature. As a brand that ‘lives in paradise’, Corona aims to host one of the most sustainable, plastic free festival series on earth, when it takes place The Glen Country Club, Clifton in Cape Town on April 1st.
Focused on music, relaxation and connecting festival goers to nature through one-of-a-kind experiences, the festival will not only give them a front row seat to the world’s most breathtaking sunsets but leave a minimal footprint.
Guided by Oceanic Global Blue Standard program, Corona has designed the festivals in accordance with comprehensive sustainability criteria throughout festival design as well as assessment of the sustainability efforts of each festival against the Blue Standard.
From ensuring 50% of all food sold is plant-based to donating any excess food to a food rescue program, banning the use of plastic bags and single use plastic, and diverting all compostable elements, from food to the containers they come in, away from landfills, are just some of the criteria applied to making the festival compliant with Corona’s long time NGO environmental partner.
Gates open at 12pm at The Glen Country Club, Clifton, on April 1. For more information and ticketing visit: www.Corona.Howler.co.za
