Former Banyana Banyana captain, Amanda Dlamini is set to inspire young people and provide valuable knowledge about careers and business opportunities in the sports and wellness industry. Dlamini will be speaking at the fifth Nedbank YouthX Live event on Thursday, 19 August 2021.

Launched in March 2021, YouthX is a programme designed to unlock youth’s potential by giving them the opportunity to learn from other young changemakers like Dlamini, Sho Madjozi, Rich Mnisi and more, who are well on their way to becoming leaders in their respective fields.

Nedbank’s Group Executive for Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Khensani Nobanda, said: ‘With the increasing unemployment rate among the South African youth, we created a free 24/7 platform that is designed to connect passionate youth with like-minded individuals or changemakers like Amanda Dlamini who have seen success in their respective journeys. For the upcoming YouthX Live event, we hope to share valuable insights with the youth on careers and business opportunities in sports and wellness, while continuing to provide financial education. We urge young people to register, join the movement and learn from Amanda and other speakers in this field.’

With a thriving career as a football analyst and brand ambassador, Dlamini will be sharing valuable insights on how to build a career in sports on and off the field, speaking about her journey and sharing tips to help the South African youth unlock their potential.

I’m excited to finally share my journey and knowledge with young people at the Sports and Wellness YouthX Live event. There aren’t many female footballers in the country who have been able to build a career in sports after they hang their boots or even explore other opportunities while they’re still playing,’ said Dlamini. ‘The truth is there is more to sports and wellness beyond the pitch, and I’m looking forward to sharing information on how one can further their career. There’s a lot to learn and I encourage everyone who is interested in our industry to register and join me and Nedbank next week Thursday.’

The live event will also have a panel discussion where Dlamini will be joined by the Nedbank’s Head of Retail Investments, Sisandile Cikido, local changemaker, Thandy Matlaila, and award-winning sports broadcaster, TV & radio presenter, Thato Moeng.
