Kwaito vocalist, Speedy has released his first album, The Gift, after 14 years since releasing a full body of work. The Bongo Maffin alumni’s most recent lead single is the B.O.P sampled tune, Nix Manyonyoba featuring Kid X which was released as a single in October of this year. In a continued effort to promote The Gift and Nix Manyonyoba, Speedy has released the music video for the summer bop.

Ahead of its wide availability, Speedy enjoyed an exclusive premiere of the music video on MTV Base on Tuesday, 23 November 2021. Not based on the lyrical premise of the song, the Day Schwartz directed music video opts to focus on the groove of the song.

With placement by sponsor Isuzu, the music video is a showcasing and celebration of the streets, the hood, or ekasi as we start the day on a driving lot. This is before we are taken into the hood, to experience a day spent on summer day ekasi. Spliced in between is the celebration of the synergy of pantsula dance and amapiano, like the music. The music video showcases not only the merging, but the thin line between the genres.
