Gods Window Pt1, the long awaited debut album of 3Step pioneer Thakzin has been a well kept secret, recorded with many high profile collaborators between Johannesburg & Cape Town, and on the road while touring Africa & the world. For Thakzin, 3Step is a state of mind. More than a genre, 3Step is an attitude toward music, an organic hybrid born in the pandemic and crystallized with The Magnificent Dance (2022), embodying intuition, multiplicity, and sonic honesty. The 18 track long player will be released worldwide on September 26th 2025.
About Imali Yephepha
As the album, Imali Yephepha is a collaborative tapestry, woven from the voices and visions of exceptional artists. Far more than guest contributors, these collaborators are integral to the narrative, true creative partners whose presence embodies a collective spirit. Each brings a distinct energy, history, and perspective, enriching both the 3Step movement and Thakzin’s wider artistic vision.
While we will discover collaborators step by step, on the way to the album, the second single, Imali Yephepha (literally paper money), is uncovering a bit of the magic with an uplifting 6 minute odyssey shaped collectively with an All stars cast including Atmos Blaq, MphoWAV, Suffocate SA, Citizen Deep, Divine Keys on production duties & vocals by Baby S.O.N & Tete. It’s a manifestation mantra set to a hypnotic pulse: a single flame makes intention visible, and the groove answers with call-and-response energy: call / claim / receive. As the veil thins, alignment clicks, hands open, and the paper flows. A hypnotic, magnetic ritual made for moments when you decide to invite abundance in.
About Debut Album Gods Window Pt.1
With his debut album Gods Window Pt. 1, Thakzin delivers an 18-track spiritual journey, placing story, ancestry, and healing at the center of every sonic, visual, and experiential layer. More than a collection of songs, it is a ceremonial offering, a meditative, ecstatic, and inquisitive portal that embodies the multilayered nature of African identity and its evolution across time. By fusing personal and cultural history with forward-looking experimentation, Thakzin emerges not only as an artist but as a symbol of generational continuity and imaginative resistance.
Guided not by genre but by resonance – spiritual, emotional, and cultural – his work seeks to evoke something timeless while pointing toward what comes next. Echoing the panoramic natural landmark in Mpumalanga, Gods Window Pt. 1 symbolizes the third eye, ancestral vision, and a spiritual gaze into past and future. Conceived as a “no-skip” experience, it unfolds like a Sunday course meal: rich, layered, and deeply nourishing.
A Three-Part Journey

Present – Rooted in Thakzin’s personal evolution, community, and fearless experimentation, reflecting both the struggles and triumphs of today.
Future – A bold imagining of sound and identity through 3Step and beyond, where African creativity reshapes global consciousness.
