This past Monday, 15 December, the PlayTSOGO Globe at Suncoast, Durban, transformed into a booming musical playground as SoundLand delivered the last SoundLand of the year, one of the biggest bashes of the month. Doors opened at 2pm and the energy lived until the early hours, turning the venue into a non‑stop centre of rhythm.
The last SoundLand of the year kept the house deep, Afro-tech Back-to-Back, Piano on fire and Gqom ibiyiGqobhoza as it should, Nakanjani.
Headlining and Shifting the vibe from afternoon until the early hours were Dlala Thukzin (Magic Hands), Kabza De Small, DJ Maphorisa, Morda, Oscar Mbo, Leehleza, Kyotic, and Gqom’s finest Distruction Boyz. Each artist brought their signature sound, and intertwined beats that kept the crowd grooving from midday to sunrise.
More than a Musical experience, Smirnoff ICE, as the headline sponsor, created a grand activation zone that matched their WE DO WE energy NAKANJANI and it became the heartbeat of the night. Guests enjoyed ice cold product trials, high energy interactive games and a photo ready “Ice Bar” that captured the night’s sparkle. The brand’s bold flavours, Storm, Guarana, Spin, Berry Twist and Pine Twist that are available in 330 ml, 440 ml and 660 ml formats, kept the vibe refreshed all night long.
“SoundLand proved that a single night can redefine the summer soundtrack,” said Ifeoma Agu, Head of Culture: Smirnoff South West Africa, “We’re proud to have powered this one-night exclusive experience and to keep the spirit of Mzansi alive throughout and beyond the festive season, Nakanjani.”
